Description Recombinant Human IFN-alpha/beta R2 Protein is produced by Human cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ile27-Lys243) of human IFN-alpha/beta R2 (Accession #P48551) fused with an Fc tag at the C-terminus.
Bio-Activity Measured by its ability to inhibit rh IFNβ mediated protection of WISH Human amnion cells infected with vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) to viral lysis. The EC50 for this effect is typically 0.2-1.2μg/mL.
Purity > 95% by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin < 1 EU/μg of the protein by LAL method.

Interferon α/β Receptor 2 (IFN- α/β R2) is a single-pass type I membrane protein which belongs to the type IIcytokine receptor family. It complexes with IFN-α/β R1 to form the signaling receptor complex for the family ofα and β IFN subtypes. By alternative splicing, IFN- α/β R2 can exist as a secreted soluble protein or as a type Imembrane protein. IFN- α / β R2 is the principal ligand binding subunit of the receptor. Ligand binding isstabilized by the subsequent association with IFN- α / β R1, resulting in the formation of a signaling ternaryreceptor complex. IFNAR2 was detected in most lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes, although IFNAR2expression was higher in the monocytes and granulocytes than in the lymphocytes. Among the lymphocytesubsets, IFNAR2 showed high expression in natural killer (NK) cells and low expression in T lymphocytes.Isoform 1 and isoform 3 of IFNAR2 are directly involved in signal transduction due to their interaction with theTYR kinase, JAK1. Isoform 1 also interacts with the transcriptional factors, STAT1 and STAT2. Both forms arepotent inhibitors of type I IFN activity.
